Wisdom from the Past: An Interview with Lelԑԑ Yahͻͻ
Public DepositedAn interview with Lelԑԑ Yahͻͻ of Banda-Ahenkro, where she is a member of Boadum Katoo and a linquist to the Banda Queen Mother Lelԑԑ Akosua Kepefo. Lelԑԑ Yahͻͻ narrates the history of Boadum Katoo, which is a sub-house of Kuulo Katoo in Dompofie. She describes the life of her mother, Ma Mnama, and her mother's involvement in trading, farming and other lines of work. Prompted by archival photos from the Banda Heritage Repository, Lelԑԑ Yahɔɔ talks about socialization of children, the hardships of getting water in times before boreholes were dug, the role of girls in gathering firewood, food preparation, the involvement of Banda farmers in commercial tobacco farming, and about how people worked together in the past.
